JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT HELPS STUDENTS MAKE A CONNECTION BETWEEN WHAT THEY LEARN IN SCHOOL AND HOW IT CAN BE APPLIED IN THE REAL WORLD, THEREBY ENHANCING THE RELEVANCE OF THEIR CLASSROOM LEARNING AND EQUIPPING THEM TO BE THE FUTURE LEADERS OUR COMMUNITIES NEED TO THRIVE. OUR RELEVANT, EXPERIENTIAL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT LITTLE OR NO COST TO SCHOOLS AND ALIGN WITH NATIONAL AND LOCAL CURRICULUM STANDARDS. DURING THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR, WE PARTNERED WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS AND 4,568 VOLUNTEERS TO TEACH OUR CURRICULUM TO 81,024 LOCAL STUDENTS IN MINNESOTA, NORTH DAKOTA, AND WESTERN WISCONSIN. ST PAUL, MN
6 DREAM OF WILD HEALTH The mission of Dream of Wild Health is to restore health and well-being in the Native community by recovering knowledge of and access to healthy indigenous foods, medicines, and lifeways. We do this by: creating culturally-based opportunities for youth employment, entrepreneurship and leadership; Increasing access to Indigenous foods through farm production, sales and distribution; and community organizing and outreach around reclaiming cultural traditions, healthy Indigenous food, cooking skills, and policy and systems change. Dream of Wild Health is also one of the leaders of a groundswell movement to reclaim Indigenous sovereignty through food.
