Grants of up to $1,000 to USA teachers, school administrators, and education support professionals to encourage alternatives to in-class animal dissection activities. Eligible uses of funding include supplies, new materials, resources, and technology or equipment to support replacing traditional animal dissection activities with humane, non-animal alternatives. Some funds may be used to support the professional development or training necessary to implement the project, but the majority of funds must be spent on materials for students.
The BioLEAP Biology Education Advancement Program Classroom Grant supports educators who want to implement humane education tools into their curriculum by helping offset the costs of purchasing new materials. NAVS is especially interested in supporting teachers who want to replace traditional animal dissection with non-animal alternatives.
