Grant of $50,000 to a USA institution-affiliated investigator for research related to reducing inequities in the health sector. Funding is intended to support collaborative studies that improve the quality, access, delivery, and outcome of health care and help to mitigate health disparities. This includes racial and ethnic minority populations; non-English speaking populations; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ+) populations; persons with limited health literacy; socioeconomically disadvantaged populations; and other groups impacted by health disparities.
Proposals are encouraged that propose or lay the groundwork for emergency department-based interventions that produce actionable evidence or generalizable and reproducible findings to improve health outcomes for disparities groups. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
EMF encourages application partnerships between research universities and community education departments.
Funds may be used for materials and supplies and to provide salary support.
