Grants of up to $10,000 to USA nonprofit organizations, K-12 public or private schools, colleges, universities, and public libraries for literacy programs in regions where the funding source has a business presence. Funding is intended for programs that serve adults. Applicants must be located within 15 miles of a Dollar General store.

    Dollar General Literacy Foundation awards funding to organizations that provide the following services:

    • Adult Basic Education
    • GED or High School Equivalency Preparation
    • English Language Acquisition

    Additional Eligibility Criteria:

    To be eligible for a grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, your organization must be a nonprofit organization as determined by the IRS, a public library, school or college providing direct literacy services within a state that Dollar General Corporation operates in and is within 15 miles of a Dollar General store. Other eligibility requirements are specific to each grant type and can be found within the grants themselves.
