Grants to Minnesota nonprofit organizations in eligible regions for programs that address the needs of the local community. Applicants must submit a letter of intent prior to submitting a full application. Eligible focus areas include education, environment, civic projects, arts, and human services. Funding is intended to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Two Harbors and the surrounding areas.
Grant awards from Unrestricted Funds are recommended by the Two Harbors Area Fund Advisory Board for initiatives that meet the changing needs of the local community in the following five areas:
The Advisory Board may, from time to time, emphasize one area over another when emerging needs or opportunities require special attention.
Within the seven areas, priority will be given to projects that fall within one or more of the following:

Grants from Unrestricted Funds generally begin at $500.
Grant awards from Unrestricted Funds cannot provide long-term or permanent support for any purpose. Therefore, organizations must have the financial potential to sustain a program after the funding by the Two Harbors Area Fund has ended. More than one year of funding may be recommended to ensure the stability of a new organization or program.
